'When school’s out, kids around the country visit selected Regal theatres for the Free Family Film Festival. It’s a fun-filled nine weeks of movies for kids and parents. Since 1991, Regal has provided this service to the community, and best of all it’s FREE!

dinner, a movie, crafts, and games inside the community room at Santa
Clarita Park while parents have a night to themselves. City staff will lead the

Feb. 28th- Santa Clarita Century Family Ride

Parents and their children are invited to come ride and experience the excitement of an organized cycling event to benefit an excellent cause. The route is an introductory-level ride: approximately 6 miles with no hills. The route follows part of the extensive Santa Clarita bike path around Valencia . Riders are treated to water and refreshments along the way.

Pre-registration is now closed but you can register in the morning of the event. The cost is $10.

All proceeds from the 2009 Santa Clarita Century will be donated to the Santa Clarita Child & Family Center (childfamilycenter.org). The Center helps build a healthy Santa Clarita by providing mental health, behavioral and educational services to children, adults and their families.

The Tesoro Adobe was built and owned by noted western film actor, Harry Carey, in the 1920’s and 1930’s. During Carey’s prolific film career, he is credited with at least 233 movies; the western movie elite including John Wayne, William S. Hart, and Gary Cooper visited Tesoro adobe. In June, 2005, the County accepted the donation of the Tesoro Adobe Historic Park from Montalvo Properties LLC, the developer of the Tesoro residential community that surrounds the park.
